Jerilyn Dinsmoor's original designs contain exquisite color
combinations, richly textured surfaces, and impeccable construction
details.
Each garment contains multiple layers of fabric. After
each piece is partially constructed, a one-of-a kind collage design
is created with various decorative fabrics. She spends hours manually
texturizing the garments using an ordinary sewing machine. Specialty
threads are used, including rayon, variegated, and dazzling metallics.
Hundreds of yards of thread are used in each creation.
The garment
pieces are then shrunk in the washer and dryer to achieve a three-dimensional
textured finish - a trademark of Jerilyn's designs. After washing,
the garment pieces are re-cut for accuracy and construction is finished.
The edges are bound with fabric and embellished with decorative stitching.
Finally, creative closures are added, such as hand-made fabric covered
buttons, or decorative "frog" closures made of fabric cording.
Nearly all of the garments are reversible and machine washable.
